WILDFLOWER CHILD

I've been super busy working towards my November show in San Francisco. Here's just a few work in progress and studio photos of what I'm working on. This series focuses on the wildflowers of Northern California which were abundant this spring after record rainfall. Each painting is a study of a wildflower accompanied by one of my girls. These are also reminiscent of the Flower Fairy books of my childhood - where each fairy had its own flower, and each flower had a poem to go with it, incidentally my daughter now reads these same books. Lastly this series gives a nod to the 50 year anniversary of San Francisco's Summer of Love, celebrated this summer and the climate of love, peace and political resistance. Wildflower Child opens November 18th at 3118 22nd st at Valencia, San Francisco. 6-9pm.
